First Journalist Fired for Fake News and Threats Directed at Catholic MAGA Kids

"I just want these people to die. Simple as that. Every single one of them. And their parents.” - Erik Abriss

The quickness with which this story blew up and then changed as the full story became more clear is remarkable. It is cause for hope as well as for some despair.

For much of the media the image of the kid in the MAGA hat smiling down at the ancient American Indian activist was just too perfect. Here is was, Trump's horrible America for all the world to see. White male privilege on display.

But as we soon found out that wasn't really the story at all.

We have a situation where there is now a significant part of the population that does not see the authoritarian route its headed down. And if it does, and we think part of the ethno-obsessed mob does, it doesn't care. They really do think they are the "good" ones. They're "woke".

From Orwell's 1984

No, many of these people seem to have checked out from reality.

The bright spot on the horizon is that The Wrap is reporting that at least one of these terrible "journalists" has been fired:
Digital company INE Entertainment has fired a journalist who publicly wished for the death of several Covington Catholic High School students and their parents in a pair of tweets over the weekend. Aside from his job as a post-production supervisor at INE, Erik Abriss is a contributor to New York Media’s pop culture site Vulture. “We were surprised and upset to see the inflammatory and offensive rhetoric used on Erik Abriss’ Twitter account this weekend. He worked with the company in our post-production department and never as a writer,” the company said in a statement to TheWrap on Monday.
Abriss was one of the hundreds of adults on Twitter calling for the deaths of children for the crime of wearing MAGA hats and smiling in public.

MAGA hats aren't our style - at all. But all the PC zealots are the ones we should be most concerned with. These people seem wrapped up in a type of religious fervor or something, convinced utterly of their righteousness.

And even today there seem to be many online who absolutely refuse to acknowledge that the PC narrative chomped down on yesterday was false. There are many people, at least from what we've seen, who REFUSE to believe reality because it conflicts with their "woke"ness. Is this sleepwokeness? Or maybe it's just plain old hate. By the way, "race" is nonsense. At what point does one become "white" or "black" or "asian" or "hispanic" or what? Why do so many people continue to cling to their tribes? (There are big political reasons.) Why does it seem that a significant part of the population is so attached to the hue of their skin? Why is it so hard to recognize our past differences, and at some point historically every "tribe" has been both the victor and conquered, and move forward based on rational economics and simple respect for each and every person on an individual basis? That, in the end is the ONLY way forward.
