Ocasio-Cortez thinks the world could end in 12 years because of climate change? OK...

Yes it appears so.

(From Grabienews)
"...millennials and people, in Gen Z, and all these folks that come after us are looking up and we’re like, the world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change."

Look, we are going to tell you as people who take the concept of climate change seriously, who have looked at things like a carbon tax at a policy level seriously and over multiple years, that the world isn't going to end in 12 years. It's not going to end in 1200 years. But people like Ms. Ocassio-Cortez think that if they can bamboozle enough people into being afraid, then they will be able to expand the state. (Plus she may actually believe this which is arguably even worse.) Fear is always a tool of people with totalitarian instincts, and Ms. Ocasio-Cortez certainly has those.

Not only is the freshmen congresswoman, and she is only a freshman congresswoman, inclined toward force and coercion and the things this country is supposed to stand against, she is clearly "challenged" on the intellectual front. This is not some random dig. This is quite clearly evident in her interviews. She's convinced that she knows many things, but many of the things she "knows" just aren't so.

Mix this with a clear dishonest streak, she's not from the Bronx like she has insisted, but from Yorktown Heights which is a very upscale town in Westchester County, (her house wasn't the largest in town but it was nice and it only needed to house she and her father), and one has the recipe for a particularly annoying (and in some ways dangerous) type of politician. By American standards Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is child of significant privilege. Yet she poses like she's from the ghetto.

But she is the anti-Trump so the old media continue to push her. She looks good on camera and appeals to the lost demographic of millennials wondering why the world their parents promised them hasn't just been delivered to their feet.

So she's inclined toward controlling others, she is "challenged" on the intellectual front, AND she's dishonest and has been from the outset. This is not someone people should be looking to for leadership. But we are convinced that the politically correct brigades have some of the best PR people in the business working for them. (We're not sure of course, but there is definitely someone pushing the narrative behind the neo-totalitarians like Ocasio-Cortez.) As such she gets airtime. This in the end, if the world is lucky (and for the sake of the future let's hope that it is), will be her own undoing.
